The UET ECAT is the mandatory engineering entry test conducted by UET Lahore for admission into undergraduate engineering and technology programs at UET campuses across Punjab, including Taxila and Faisalabad. It evaluates candidates across four subjects Physics, Mathematics, English, and either Chemistry, Computer Science, or Biology depending on their intermediate background

Test Format
The test comprises 100 MCQs to be answered in 100 minutes. Each correct answer awards +4 marks, while incorrect ones incur a -1 penalty, with no penalty for blank responses. Typically, the distribution is 30 questions each in Physics and Maths, 10 in English, and 30 in the fourth subject . There’s no minimum passing threshold; however, higher ECAT scores contribute significantly to admission merit.
ECAT Phases
UET offers two ECAT phases: Phase I was held from March 17–23, with results released on March 28. Phase II was scheduled for June 13–16, with registration open until June 2 and admit cards available from June 4.
Result Declaration
Second-phase results declared on June 25 via the UET admissions portal. Notably, UET announced an increase of 2,500 additional seats to accommodate growing demand and introduced new programs including AI, Biomedical Science, Cyber Security, and Robotics.

ECAT Closing Merits
Final admission merit is computed using the highest ECAT score (between March and June attempts), combined with FSc/intermediate and matric marks—as per Punjab admissions policy. After results, students have until July 11 to apply via the main admission portal . Merit lists, seat upgrades/downgrades, and classes are expected to follow in July–August for fall intake.
